Tirunelveli Government Exhibition 2026 Opens Today at Palayamkottai!

45 days of government stalls, entertainment, food, cultural programs and more

The much-awaited Nellai Government Exhibition 2026 begins today, August 29, at the Florence Swainson Deaf Higher Secondary School Ground in Palayamkottai, opposite the Palayamkottai Central Jail.

Organised every year by the Tamil Nadu Government in Tirunelveli district, this year’s exhibition will run for 45 days and brings together government departments, public-sector organisations, entertainment, food stalls and cultural programmes under one roof.

Opening ceremony today

The exhibition will be officially inaugurated today, Saturday, August 29, at 9:30 a.m. by Tirunelveli District Collector Thiru. Anand Mohan, I.A.S. Members of Parliament, MLAs and other officials are expected to take part in the inaugural event.

26 government departments under one roof

One of the main attractions of the exhibition is the opportunity for visitors to learn about government schemes and services directly from department officials.

Stalls have been set up by 26 government departments, covering areas including tourism, agriculture, police, health, education, forests, transport, social welfare, rural development, employment and skill development, fisheries, highways and more.

Government-affiliated organisations including the Corporation, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Aavin, Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation, Co-optex and the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board have also set up stalls.

Visitors can learn about the various schemes being implemented by these departments and get information on how to access welfare benefits and government assistance.

Exhibition timings and bus service

The exhibition will be open to the public every day from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

For the convenience of visitors, Transport Corporation buses will operate from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. throughout the exhibition period, with buses stopping in front of the exhibition venue.

Entry fee

The ticket prices have been kept affordable:

  • Adults: ₹15
  • Children: ₹10
  • School students: ₹5

Entertainment for the whole family

There is plenty to look forward to beyond the government stalls. The exhibition will feature amusement rides and entertainment activities for children and adults, along with snack stalls and stalls offering useful household products.

Visitors can also enjoy cultural programmes and music performances during the exhibition.

With government schemes and services to explore, along with food, rides and entertainment, the Nellai Government Exhibition offers something for visitors of all ages.
